Open Space and Recreation Plan Update (2023)

Open Space and Recreation Plans (OSRPs) are a tool through which a community plans for the future of its conservation and recreation resources.  OSRPs are informed by a thorough public participation process and reflect the needs of its community members.  The plans are reviewed and approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to ensure that they conform to the OSRP requirements.  When a community has an approved OSRP, it becomes eligible for Department of Conservation Services (DCS) grant programs for up to seven (7) years.

The Town of North Andover's current OSRP was produced in 2016 and will expire at the end of 2023.  In summer of 2023, the Town hired consulting firm Horsely Witten Group to assist it in developing an updated OSRP that meets State requirements.

Public Meetings and Input

On September 14, 2023, the Town, in cooperation with its consultant team from Horsley Witten Group, hosted a public workshop at the North Andover Senior Center to present information about the OSRP update process and to solicit public input on priorities to incorporate into the new Plan.  Further below is a YouTube link to a recording of the workshop.
