The North Andover Fire Department is a Child Safety Seat Inspection Station. In partnership with the North Andover Police we have staff who are currently certified as child safety seat technicians. Our certified technicians can verify if a seat has been recalled, provide proper installation instruction and will evaluate the owners ability to safety install a car seat on their own once they have been instructed to ensure child safety seats are properly installed if they need to be removed from the vehicle or moved to another. If you would like to have a child seat inspected for correct installation or have questions about your car seat feel free to contact us at (978) 688-9590 and speak with our EMS Coordinator FF Jeff Deschenes to schedule an appointment.
Child safety seats can reduce fatal injury by up to 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers (ages 1-4) *. Proper installation procedures can vary according to make and model of seat, make and model of vehicle, and size of child. The North Andover Fire Departrment offers inspections to verify if your seats are installed correctly.
